Our Mission

Born out of the political urgency to support undocumented students, Breaking Fronteras Undocu5k is a 5K that raises funds to provide scholarships for our AB 540 community on campus. The Breaking Fronteras Undocu5k was created by the Latinx Student Union, composed of all Latinx student organizations at California State University, Long Beach.

As a collective, we believe that education should be a right, and our goal is for our scholarships to create more accessibility for all students, regardless of legal status, to pursue this right. Migration is a striking phenomenon that has brought about cultural diversity throughout history and is here to stay. We envision an event that brings the community together as an act of resistance against the policies, structures, and administrations that aim to destabilize the future of undocumented students on campus and the community at large.
